English ↔ Chinese transcription and translation of everyone in the call, with a saved transcript afterwards. Works with any Google account.

Install (once, about 2 minutes)
- Download Meet Transcriber
- Unzip it and move the
meet-transcriberfolder somewhere permanent, e.g. your Documents folder. Updates are saved into this folder, so don't delete it. - Open
chrome://extensionsin a new tab and turn on Developer mode (top right). - Click Load unpacked and choose the
extensionfolder insidemeet-transcriber. - A welcome tab opens: choose your caption language and allow the microphone (“Allow while visiting the site”).
- Pin it: click the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome’s toolbar, then the pin next to Meet Transcriber.
Had an older copy (before 1.2)? Remove it in chrome://extensions first. This page notices the new one by itself once it is installed.
Using it
- Join a Google Meet and click the Meet Transcriber icon once. Captions start when you’re in the call.
- After the meeting, open the side panel and click Download for the transcript (dated, with speakers).
- Updates: when a new version is out, the side panel and this page show Update now. One click; never during a meeting.
Audio is sent to Alibaba Cloud (Singapore) for live transcription and is never stored. Tell participants before transcribing. Internal Gudtrip tool — please don’t share this page outside the team.
